An online exhibition by Shoe-icons.com on red shoes explored the archetypical nature of the red color that has intrigued fashion designers, artists, colorists and psychologists. Why are we so attracted by red?   http://eng.shoe-icons.com/collection/shoes.htm

In an interview of Christian Louboutin by Natalie Messenet, he was asked if he would have chosen any other colour other than red for the souls. To which he replied ‘in the beginning I thought I would do a different colour each season’ but the success of the red soul established the brand and he stayed with it, he then adds that the success of the red soul could be because ‘red goes with a lot of colours… women wear red elements like nails and red lips’ hence the red souls accentuate and compliment it.  https://curatingfashion.wordpress.com/interviews/
